Brady schools report unfinished office‑addition work; district to withhold payment and hire TL Sund to finish

Superintendent Foster told the board on Oct. 13 that work on a new office addition dating to Feb. 2024 remains incomplete and has caused water damage from exposed pipes.
Foster said she has repeatedly contacted the contractor (AGC) without resolution. The district still shows a remaining unpaid contract balance of $1,220.55 but will withhold that payment because the job is unfinished. Foster said the district has contacted KSB School Law and that the firm will send a notice of claim for breach of contract to AGC. In the meantime, the district plans to contract with TL Sund Constructors, Inc. to finish the outstanding work and ensure seams are sealed.
The board packet noted prior water damage from unsealed seams and that Weathercraft had been engaged to investigate water leaks in the elementary hallway. The district also said it will not remit the final AGC invoice while work remains incomplete; the board did not take a formal vote on new contracting at the meeting but directed staff to proceed with legal notification and completion plans.
Superintendent Foster presented the update during the construction item (8.7). The board will receive follow-up as staff pursues legal notice and contracts for completion of the work.
