The Chair said he marked all stumps with green tape and will solicit three quotes from contractors to grind or remove stumps to ground level. A committee member recommended treating removal to ground level as a standard to avoid duplicative work in future maintenance cycles.
On tree work, the Chair reported that Mark and Rick removed a previously identified dead tree, removing the immediate hazard though the stump remains. The committee agreed to let public works (Harlan) inspect a crushed fence along the property line to determine whether neighbors or town crews should repair it.
Regarding the gate, members debated whether to repair the existing vehicle-sized gate or replace it with a pedestrian gate, with one member advising committee planners to get a quote now to inform a possible FY28 line item for replacement. The Chair said he will gather estimates and bring findings to the committee at the next meeting.
