The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors unanimously appointed Keith Merrill to fill the vacant Seat 1 on Oct. 22, 2024. Chair Bob Schultz nominated Merrill, and the motion, seconded by Robert Twombly, passed with all supervisors in favor.
Mrs. Cleo Adams, acting as notary, administered the Oath of Office to Merrill at the meeting. Mrs. Adams and District Counsel Tony Pires reviewed required filings and training for new board members, including Form 1, the Sunshine Amendment and the Code of Ethics for Public Officers and Employees, and Form 8B conflict disclosure procedures.
Board members noted Merrill's long residential history in the Pelican Sound community and prior HOA experience as reasons for his nomination. Chair Bob Schultz thanked candidate Kevin Ofenloch for his willingness to serve.
The appointment fills a seat whose term runs through November 2026; staff indicated standard onboarding and training material will be provided to Merrill and that the Oath will be available at the November meeting for any additional administrative requirements.
