Cheatham County schools honored: employees of the month and five Reward Schools recognized
Summary
The board recognized monthly employees from across the district and announced that five schools earned Tennessee Reward School status for 2024–2025; eight schools also received A or B letter grades on the state report card.
At the Feb. 5 meeting the Cheatham County Board of Education recognized district employees of the month and shared results from the Tennessee Department of Education’s 2024–2025 school recognitions.
District staff read a list of employee honorees from multiple sites and departments. Board members and staff congratulated honorees for their service.
Staff also announced that five schools — Ashland City Elementary STEM Academy, Kingston Springs Elementary School, Pleasant View Elementary School, West Cheatham Elementary School and Sycamore High School — were named Reward Schools, the highest state distinction available in Tennessee’s accountability system. District representatives noted Reward School status is based on achievement, growth, chronic absenteeism, English learner proficiency, graduation rates and Ready Graduate indicators.
Additionally, the district reported eight schools received A or B letter grades on the 2024–2025 State Report Card; the grades reflect measures such as student achievement and growth. The board received the recognitions as informational items; no votes were required.
