The Cheatham County Board of Education voted April 9 to extend Director of Schools Stacy Stang Brown’s contract through June 30, 2029, approving the motion 5–0 with Amber Locke absent.
The motion to approve the contract amendment was made by Dale McCarver and seconded by Jimmy Harden. The board stated at roll call that a majority of the membership is required for passage and that four votes are the legal threshold.
The extension was presented to the board as a single amendment covering the director’s term through the stated date; the transcript does not record additional contract terms (salary, performance measures, or other changes). The meeting minutes indicate the board approved the motion as presented.
The meeting adjourned at 7:04 p.m. after the board completed its agenda; no public forum comments were recorded during the meeting.
The minutes were recorded and signed by Angela Patterson, board secretary.
