Palmyra's public works superintendent told the borough council on July 14 that crews repaired a storm drain on Front Street that previously overflowed, refurbishing and reconnecting a large pipe so the system now conveys stormwater as intended. "We dug it up ... it was a big 4 foot pipe," the superintendent said, describing the repair work and noting the pavement patching will follow when contractor paving schedules allow.
The superintendent also described refurbishing an older 8-foot trailer — replacing decking and reinforcing the tongue — and said the municipal street sweeper has been repaired and returned to service. He praised seasonal summer workers for enabling the department to tackle larger projects and described recent IMGIS training and efforts to integrate Trimble with the department's systems to improve communication and asset tracking.
Council members acknowledged the update and thanked crews; no motions or votes were recorded on these operational items.
