Board approves contracts for special‑education services and two school resource officers

At the July 15 work session the Stow‑Munroe Falls City School District Board approved several contract items the administration described as routine and necessary for student services.
The board approved a contract with the ESC of Northeast Ohio for 2026–27 to provide specialized services for students with individualized education programs, including audiology, services for visual impairment, orientation and mobility, and interpreting services. Board members noted that itemized cost and funding lines are available in BoardDocs.
The board also approved a contract for two school resource officers (SROs) to be shared across the district’s elementary schools and approved memoranda of understanding with the City of Stow and the City of Monroe Falls police departments outlining SRO responsibilities. A board member thanked Councilperson Kelly Coffey for assisting with the Stow agreement, and several members said the city–district partnership will benefit students and provide opportunities for positive law‑enforcement engagement.
All three items were approved by roll call vote as presented. Administration said the city of Stow had already hired the two officers; district approval confirms their assignment to district schools.
