Council previews budget, clarifies annexation status and flags tourism branding

At the March 10 Star Valley Ranch Town Council meeting, Councilman Wade Bitter reported that preparation of the 2026–27 operating budget is underway and that a first reading is scheduled for April; a complete list of capital items will be made public 10 days before the April 14 meeting.
Councilman Toolson addressed misinformation circulating on social media about annexation, saying the council is not currently in a position to vote on annexation and is gathering information and conducting due diligence. She encouraged public comment and noted a productive meeting with the Star Valley Ranch Association and Mayor Rok about possible collaboration and grant opportunities. The Travel and Tourism board has developed logo designs that will be presented to the public soon; the board will meet March 25 at 2 p.m.
During public comment, resident Carolyn Thacker asked whether Mountain Estates would be part of the Star Valley Ranch Association HOA or have a separate homeowners association and requested that the council add a building report to a Regular Meeting agenda. The item was recorded as public comment; no formal council action on the HOA question was taken at this meeting.
Mayor Rok reminded the public that the Planning Commission will meet the following evening at 5:30 p.m., and that annexation remains a standing agenda item for that body. The council adjourned at 7:19 p.m.
