Council approves amended SB‑1 forms for More Logistics after developer update

The Whiteland Town Council on July 14 approved a resolution amending SB‑1 abatement documents for portions of the More Logistics development to reflect longer completion timelines and higher projected investment.
Attorney Jeff Bennett and representatives for Moore Development and Ambrose explained that market downturns and site infrastructure needs delayed progress on Lots 2, 3B and 3C. Lot 3A is complete and leased. The amendments extend the expected window to complete development from the original seven‑month milestones to a multi‑year schedule (staff described changes as extending to roughly five years in the recitals) and raise the expected investment numbers and square footage for the remaining lots.
Bennett said the amended documents were coordinated with Ambrose so the forms would be consistent whether Moore or Ambrose proceeds with development. Council members asked for clarification on start/completion triggers and confirmed that abatements do not begin until the assessor issues a notice of assessment and the abatement filing is made.
Councilmember motioned to approve Resolution 2026‑06 to adopt the amended SB‑1 forms; the motion passed on a 4‑0 roll call vote. Staff said the resolution and amended forms are intended to preserve the abatement structure while recognizing a longer timeline to complete the work.
The council recorded no dissent and asked staff to keep the body updated if milestones change or if a sale to Ambrose is finalized.
