North Versailles commissioners approve $344,279 in bills, road purchases and board appointments

Pension and personnel actions were included in the consent motions. The board authorized depositing 2024 State Aid — $288,988 to the Police Pension Plan at PNC and $211,781 to the Public Works Pension Plan with P.M.R.S. — and approved the Minimum Municipal Obligation payment of $110,692.58 to the P.M.R.S. pension plan. The commissioners also approved a Police Department memorandum of understanding for hiring that includes 1% pay increases for 2025, 2026 and 2027.
The board allocated operational and targeted funds: monthly Fire Tax payments of $21,559.48 to Crestas VFC No. 4 and $9,428.83 to West Wilmerding V.F.D. were authorized, and a $40,870 Dodge Durango police vehicle purchase from Jim Shorkey Auto Group was approved to be paid from the Asset Forfeiture account.
Clerical corrections to ordinance numbering were approved, renumbering several local ordinances related to civil fines for small amounts of cannabis, street-opening regulations, occupancy permits, short-term rentals and timber harvesting. The board ratified a $100 donation to Mt. Carmel Baptist Church for an anniversary booklet ad.
The board also approved Resolution 2024-8 to appoint five members to the North Versailles Industrial Development Authority: George Thompson (one-year term), Eadrik Davenport (two years), Sam Juliano (three years), Allen R. Wagner (four years) and Louise Beswick (five years).
