At the Lyons‑Decatur Northeast School District No. 20 Board of Education meeting on Sept. 8, the Superintendent reported that district enrollment stands at 312 students and that 14 students are taking P2T classes in West Point this year.
The Superintendent also announced calendar and program items: the district will be on its own for junior high football in 2026; the district will host district One Acts on Wednesday, Dec. 3 (students will not have school that day and teachers will report for professional development); and a district survey of families found 89% of respondents favor moving graduation to Saturday beginning in 2027.
The Principal summarized recent professional development, saying staff focused on reading, literacy and safety during the last month, and reminded the public that activities and events are posted on the district website and social media.
These updates were presented as routine informational items; no board action on enrollment, athletics structure or graduation date was recorded at the meeting.
