Buckhannon council appoints Shawn Young to Water Board, reschedules June meeting and cancels August session

Skinner presented the recommendation to appoint Shawn Young to the Water Board. Council Member Jack Reger moved to appoint Young and Council Member Pam Bucklew seconded; the motion carried unanimously. The minutes do not record a roll-call tally.
The council then considered the meeting schedule. Mayor Skinner said the June 18 meeting conflicted with the Almost Heaven BBQ Bash and recommended rescheduling. Council Member Scott Randall moved to change the date to June 17 at 7:00 p.m.; Council Member Jack Reger seconded and the motion carried unanimously.
Mayor Skinner also recommended canceling the August 6 council meeting because several members would attend the West Virginia Municipal League Annual Conference. Council Member Scott Randall moved to cancel the August meeting and Council Member Shawn Young seconded; the council approved the cancellation unanimously.
City Recorder Randy Sanders’ attendance listing for the meeting shows Mayor Robbie Skinner, City Recorder Randy Sanders, Council Members Pam Bucklew, Jack Reger (participating via GoToMeeting), Robert Zuliani, Scott Randall, and Shawn Young present. City Attorney Tom O’Neill and Buckhannon Police Chief Matt Gregory were listed as absent. Assistant Recorder and Director of Finance Amberle Jenkins and Director of Public Works Ethan Crosten were listed as present (Crosten via GoToMeeting). Several local media representatives were listed as absent in the minutes.
There were no public comments, no announcements, and no additional business. With no further matters to consider, Council Member Scott Randall moved to adjourn; the meeting was adjourned at 8:33 a.m.
