Closter board approves hires, substitutes and staffing moves for 2026-27

Key personnel actions included accepting the resignation of Business Office Assistant Andrew Enrique, effective June 30, 2026; approving the appointment of Bina Rivard as a full-time, tenure-track Hillside PLUS teacher (MA Step 15, salary $101,850, start Sept. 1, 2026, pending background checks); and approving the appointment of Nardin Gerges to the Business Office Assistant position (salary $53,700 pro-rated, start Aug. 17, 2026). The Board also approved long-term leave replacement hires (e.g., Melanie Jimenez as a Grade 3 long-term leave replacement, and Sing Han as a special-education long-term leave replacement), mentor assignments, approval of substitutes lists for teachers, paraprofessionals, nurses, and custodians, and a summer nurse for Tenakill Middle School programming.
Trustees also accepted the resignation of paraprofessional Dianna Juechter and the retirement notice of Tenakill paraprofessional Nancy Gronek (effective Dec. 31, 2026). The Board said all open positions for SY 2026-27 will be filled upon completion of tonight's approvals.
What this means: The slate of approvals begins staffing for the new school year and ensures coverage for planned leaves and summer programs. The appointments were approved by roll-call vote with no reported opposition.
