East Caln Township supervisors on June 17 received routine monthly reports from the police department, the Minquas Fire Department and Minquas EMS and were briefed on multiple transportation and parks items by township staff and engineering representatives.
The minutes state the township received a PennDOT update on the Boot Road Bridge noting a foundation issue with ongoing repair work; a new expected completion date was pending. The minutes further state that Pennoni reported the Norwood Road and Wallace Avenue red-light is under design with expected installation in the first quarter of 2027, and that PennDOT provided a signage and restriping plan for Rt. 113/Norwood House Road that the township is awaiting for installation.
The Board agreed to proceed with a purchase of a replacement guardrail piece for playground equipment at the East Caln Township Park at Bell Tavern for $1,892.00. The minutes also note that Norwood Road sewer re-lining work has been completed and that individual water/sewer meters were functioning properly.
Sewage flow figures for weeks 20'23 are recorded in the minutes; as transcribed they read: "20th week was 4463,173 GPD, the 21st week was 467,562 GPD, the 22nd week was 464,299 GPD, and the 23rd week 457,661 GPD." The minutes' numeric fields appear to include typographical commas and may require confirmation from engineering staff for precise reporting.
Township Engineer Michael Schnedier (the minutes also reference him as "Schneider" in one place) reviewed grant opportunities. The Board directed him to perform preliminary research on grant requirements for a sidewalk along Boot Road and asked that he return with information at the Board's July meeting.
No public testimony on these items is recorded in the minutes.
