Madison County approves five-year EMS software agreement; EMS director reports rising call volume and event coverage plans

The Madison County Board of Supervisors approved a five-year staffing and messaging software agreement for EMS on July 14 that locks in an annual rate for the county and spreads payment over the contract term.
Brady, who identified himself as the EMS director for Madison County during his report, described the contract as a way to stabilize annual software costs: "It locks us in for a five-year rate. It's the same price every year. We don't have to pay it all upfront," he said. Supervisors moved and seconded the resolution and approved it by voice vote.
Brady also reported operations figures and event coverage plans: "So far year to date... we've had 692 calls. That's about 25 ahead of last year," he told the board. He described plans for the Hinterland event, where the county will provide on-site ambulance coverage with an additional vehicle; he said the event organizer contracts the county at $200 an hour for on-site standby during event hours.
Brady summarized upcoming training, a GEMT kickoff meeting related to Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, and participation in community outreach such as first-aid classes and a truck demonstration at the library. The board did not take additional action on operational staffing beyond approving the vendor contract and the standard consent items related to EMS.
