Chairman Dan McCranie opened a public hearing on the proposed FY2026 Dodge County budgets during the board meeting on Nov. 17, 2025. Commissioner Sharon Cobb Flanagan raised a question about legal obligations tied to the airport fuel sales tax and said the airport budget may need adjustment to reflect those obligations.
Chairman McCranie tasked County Attorney John Harrington with contacting the Georgia Department of Transportation and the Department of Revenue to clarify the county’s obligations and whether those obligations should change current budget assumptions. No other members of the public offered comments during the hearing, which ended at 6:18 p.m.
The board did not take further action on the airport budget at the meeting; the matter was left pending the attorney’s outreach to state agencies. The county will await that guidance before making or publishing any budget adjustments related to airport revenue or expenditures.
