The action followed a presentation by Mr. Joey Marchant, who said county records do not show how the parcel returned to the tax digest despite subsequent sales and current taxes being paid.
Attorney John Harrington advised the board on the title issue. Commissioner Brian Watkins moved to waive penalties and interest, accept the $380.28 payment and license the county to convey the property by quitclaim deed with no warranties; Commissioner Sharon Cobb Flanagan seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
