McBee officials say American Rescue Plan application submitted; funds expected in coming weeks

Mayor John Campolong and Town Clerk Tisha Jones updated the council Nov. 2 on the town’s American Rescue Plan (ARP) funding status. Campolong said the town’s first ARP application has been submitted and that officials expect the state to distribute the first half of the allocation soon, with the remainder to follow.
Clerk Tisha Jones added that Charlie Barrineau from the Municipal Association has provided available dates to meet with the council and help develop the town’s spending plan. The council agreed staff should compile proposals for how to use the funds and present those to the council after the money is received.
No votes or commitments of ARP spending were made at the Nov. 2 meeting; council members and staff discussed scheduling an informational session with the Municipal Association representative to guide the town’s planning process.
