"We are about to do something that McBee hasn’t ever done before," Odom said, urging caution and attorney review.
Council Member Beulah Bolton asked why the alleyway was being closed; Mayor Campolong said proponents cited privacy and noted that several buildings already encroach on the alley. Several members said they wanted the ordinance drafted and reviewed by the town attorney before advancing to a second reading. A motion by Council Member Glenn Odom to table the first reading, seconded by A.C. McLeod Jr., passed on a recorded "all in favor" vote.
