Superintendent outlines election timeline, summer projects and back-to-school dates

Superintendent Paul Peppmeier updated the West Bend-Mallard Community School District Board on July 8, 2025, with a series of back-to-school reminders and facility updates.
Peppmeier told the board this is an election year with three board seats up for election; candidate paperwork is available beginning Aug. 25 and must be returned to the business office by Sept. 18. He reported that elementary flooring work has begun, cabinets are installed and countertops are scheduled for installation. New teaching staff will attend orientation on Aug. 4, and the district is tentatively planning registration for Aug. 7. Peppmeier also said the district will meet with the city later in the week to discuss a proposed pickleball court.
The superintendent's update preceded a series of routine votes at the meeting, including approvals of personnel actions and a resolution transferring $11,054.30 to the student activity fund for athletic equipment.
