County adopts FY2027 transit plan; commissioners ask staff to press for airport and hospital connections

Santa Fe County's FY2027 transit service plan was adopted Monday and will be submitted to the North Central Regional Transit District (NCRTD) for inclusion in its operating budget.
The county transportation planner described the plan as a continuation of most FY26 services with adjustments for driver shortages and included a microtransit My Blue pilot serving La Cienega and Rancho Viejo. "The My Blue service provides services to La Cienega and the Rancho Viejo areas," the planner said.
Commissioners focused on restoring routes and improving intermodal connections. Commissioner Adam Johnson and others urged the plan to emphasize airport service, access to Presbyterian Hospital and better connections to regional hubs such as Cities of Gold and Los Alamos. Commissioners also asked for ridership data and more coordination with Santa Fe Trails and NCRTD to address staffing and scheduling constraints.
The board approved the resolution adopting the transit service plan and directed staff to incorporate the commission’s comments prior to submission to the NCRTD.
