Atkinson commission votes to seek new contractor for baseball field maintenance; dugouts project progressing

"The structure part [of the dugouts] is completed," Jason Adams reported; he said benches still need to be purchased and fence work remains outstanding. Adams said he has obtained several quotes for the fence, with the lowest bid at $8,000, and that he will solicit additional vendor estimates. Chairman Cris suggested contacting Able Fence in town as one possible vendor.
The commission’s motion to seek another vendor for baseball field maintenance passed unanimously, recorded as 4-0-0. The minutes do not record a mover or seconder for the maintenance motion. The record notes there was no new report for the Capital Improvement Program playground replacement at this meeting.
Next steps recorded in the meeting minutes indicate Adams will gather more quotes for the fence and vendors for spring field maintenance so the commission can consider contract options before the season begins.
