Staff: Ferncliff has requested more time to complete off‑site stormwater work; town to review refined plan
Summary
Town staff told the board that Ferncliff — approved in 2020 for a mausoleum expansion — has yet to build required off‑site stormwater improvements and has proposed upsizing conveyance pipes; staff will refine the report and cost estimates and return with recommendations in the first quarter of next year.

Town staff updated the board that Ferncliff, whose site plan for a mausoleum expansion was approved in 2020, has not completed off‑site stormwater improvements required under that approval and has requested additional time while staff and the applicant refine proposed mitigation measures.
Staff said engineers and the town’s Department of Public Works reviewed a report proposing upsized stormwater conveyance pipes as an alternate approach that may deliver more substantial benefits to neighbors and to flooding that affects the Jean Lane area. The report needs refinement — including cost estimates — and staff asked for additional time to complete that work.
"Ferncliff has yet to build those... They have requested a series of extensions," a staff member told the board, and added that staff expect to return in the first quarter of next year with a refined plan and recommended improvements.
Next steps: the board was asked to consider updated language in resolution C4 to reflect the current status and the staff review; no final approvals or permit changes were adopted at the work session.
