The Caro City Council adopted the Fiscal Year 2026–2027 budget and approved a 16.1643 millage rate for the city at its June 1 meeting.
Mayor Karen Snider opened the public hearing on the proposed budget and Form L-4029 at 6:35 p.m. No members of the public offered comments during the hearing. Councilor Emily Campbell asked for clarification about whether funding for the Lion Head Fountain was included in the proposed budget; Mayor Snider summarized the budget’s revenues and expenses while presenting the proposal.
After closing the hearing, the council voted 7–0 to adopt Resolution 2026-06, which formally adopts the FY2026–2027 budget for the City of Caro. Following that action, the council approved Form L-4029 establishing the 2026 millage rate at 16.1643 by motion.
The council also adopted the City of Caro Fiscal Year 2026–2032 Capital Improvement Program, which the council approved as presented by motion during the same meeting. Those actions together set the city's spending plan and formal tax rate for the coming fiscal year.
The manager’s written report highlighted a community event at the Splash Pad and commended staff contributions to that event.
