Winfield council approves annexation of PP&J Structures’ Jordon Place

On Feb. 11 the Winfield City Council approved the second reading of Ordinance #2024-2025-10 to annex PP&J Structures and General Contracting, LLC (Jordon Place); the council also held a first reading on a separate annexation involving L.O.T. Investments.
The Winfield City Council on Feb. 11 approved the second reading of Ordinance #2024-2025-10 to annex PP&J Structures and General Contracting, LLC (Jordon Place), recorded in Deed Book 615 Page 506, Parcel 19, Tax Map 184. Council member Kevin Karnes moved to approve the second reading; the motion carried.
The action expands the municipality’s recorded boundaries as described in the ordinance and will be entered into the city’s deed records. At the same meeting the council approved the first reading of Ordinance #2024-2025-11, a separate annexation petition from L.O.T. Investments (Deed Book 625 Pages 313–320, Parcel 54.1, Tax Map 184); that item advanced on first reading and will return for a second reading before final adoption.
The council also discussed proposed revisions to Ordinance #135.02 (New Subdivisions). Legal counsel Tim Lafon told the council he will modify the suggested wording and return a revised draft at a future meeting; no formal action was taken on the subdivision ordinance during this session.
The council record shows the second-reading motion for Ordinance #2024-2025-10 was moved by Council member Kevin Karnes and carried, but no roll-call tally was recorded in the minutes. The first-reading motion for Ordinance #2024-2025-11 similarly carried on first reading and will require a subsequent reading for final adoption.
