Council approves one-on, one-offsite server plan; approves two community donations and flags DOH contract language for revision

Winfield’s City Council approved a plan for City Hall computer servers, approved two community donations, and discussed an 80/20 Streetscape sidewalk grant Jan. 14.
Alpha Technologies presented three server configuration options. Council member Kevin Karnes moved to proceed with option 2 — one onsite and one offsite virtual server — and recommended splitting the cost between the city and the sanitary authority; Nikki Phillips will present the recommendation at the next sanitary meeting.
On community donations, the council approved $500 to the WHS Band Boosters (with Joe Rumbaugh recorded as abstaining) and $100 to the WHS 100th Centennial; no action was taken on a request from Gold Star Mothers.
Regarding streetscape funding, staff said the city was awarded an 80/20 grant for Phase I of the Streetscape sidewalk project but Legal Counsel Tim Lafon noted concerning language in the Department of Highways contract. Lafon said he would revise the contract language and send it back to DOH before the mayor signs.
The meeting minutes also record routine administrative updates including a JAG grant that remains pending and the meeting’s adjournment at 6:52 p.m.
