Council approved contracts to demolish three burned-out structures in DuBois after staff reported competitive quotes and recommended selecting the lowest bidders.
Zach, the planning/staff presenter, told council the work for the three structures will cost about $12,300 and that $35,000 had been budgeted for demolition. Council voted to accept the bids and authorize staff to contract with the low bidders.
Council members asked for confirmation of available budget and staff said the demolition would come out of the existing demolition allocation. The action clears the way for contractors to begin clearing the properties.
What’s next: staff will execute the contracts with the selected contractors and schedule demolition work; council asked for updates on completion and costs.
