At a special meeting Sept. 25, 2024, the Valley School District Board reviewed updates to the district's 2023'028 Strategic Plan and heard enrollment data for the district and neighboring systems, Superintendent Dr. Mandi Rehn said.
Dr. Mandi Rehn, the district superintendent, presented districtwide and regional enrollment figures and walked the directors through Paideia High School enrollment trends from 2014 through 2025. Board members discussed what those trends could mean for programming and long-term planning.
The board also discussed career and technical education options. Dr. Rehn described skills centers, branch campuses and satellite campuses and the board talked about potential interest in trade-focused pathways for future high school students. The presentation included a review of applicable Washington Administrative Code rules related to skills centers.
Dr. Rehn also shared information on choice enrollment into and out of the Valley School District and outlined possible consequences for district planning and services; board members conversed about those effects but did not make any formal directives or motions.
