Commission confirms public‑board appointments; Community House foundation names officers and readies programming

The commission confirmed several volunteer appointments and heard an update on the newly established Birmingham City Community House Foundation.
Julie Pincus and Sari Rudin were nominated and unanimously approved to serve on the Public Arts Board as a regular and alternate member, respectively, through Jan. 28, 2029. Waddette Bradford was appointed to the Museum Board for a term through July 6, 2029. The clerk administered oaths for the new appointees.
Separately, commissioners heard that the Community House Foundation has organized and appointed officers (board president, vice president, treasurer and secretary), created committees (building, programming, finance/audit, development/communications and events) and obtained insurance while working to establish bank access. Foundation leaders said they will coordinate programming and fundraising and clarified donation routing until formal accounts are established.
Staff and foundation volunteers asked the public to ensure donations go to the new foundation entity and provided contact points for those who want to offer support or help with early programming efforts.
