On visiting bleachers, the superintendent said an estimate from a vendor ran about $70,000, excluding potential concrete work at the site. Members suggested booster clubs, local-business sponsorships or donors could offset the cost; several board members said they supported exploring fundraising rather than committing district funds immediately.
Board members noted that fees sometimes made school fundraisers only break even and that lowering access barriers could increase community events and participation; the superintendent said she would reach out to boosters and local partners to explore options and report back.
The board took no binding funding vote at the meeting but endorsed further exploration and outreach.
