The Hingham School Committee on July 13 approved the summative evaluation for Superintendent Katie Roberts for the 2025—6 school year, giving an overall "exemplary" rating.
Chair Jen Benham read the committee's composite evaluation, which summarized progress toward six agreed-upon goals and the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education performance standards. Benham said the student-learning goal was "met," three of four district improvement goals were "met" and one was "exceeding," and the overall step-3 summative performance rating was "exemplary."
Benham read the committee's findings aloud: "Superintendent Roberts has demonstrated exemplary leadership throughout her second year as superintendent... Under superintendent Roberts' leadership, the district has made meaningful progress across instructional programming, student services, professional culture, financial stewardship, facilities management, and community engagement." The evaluation praised work on MTSS implementation, launching the new mathematics curriculum, strengthening student services and labor relations, and modernizing human-resource systems.
Committee members thanked Roberts for "rising to the occasion" during a challenging period. A motion to approve the summative evaluation was made and the committee voted in favor; the chair announced the motion passed.
Roberts thanked the committee for the continued support. The evaluation will be filed as the official summative evaluation for the year.
