Assistant superintendent outlines Mattoon CUSD 2 back-to-school schedule, registration and supplies

Dr. Wilboy presented the district's back-to-school events and calendar during the board's July meeting, highlighting staff and student start dates and districtwide registration details.
She said staff will return on Aug. 10 and the district will hold a back-to-school breakfast and district keynote that day. "August 10 is our back to school breakfast ... students coming back, 1st through 12th graders on August 12," she said. Kindergarten students are scheduled to begin the following day and preschool classes to start the next Monday, Aug. 17. The district's calendar and registration information are posted on the Mattoon CUSD 2 website.
Dr. Wilboy noted that kindergarten through fifth-grade students will receive school supplies from the district; families of students in grades 6–12 should consult the posted supply lists. She also called attention to a community Coles County event at Eastern Illinois University on Sept. 18 at 7 p.m.
The presentation was informational; no board action was required. Parents and staff were directed to district online resources for registration and calendar links.
