Halifax ceremonially pins Michelle McIntyre as first female police sergeant

Town and department officials thanked McIntyre and her family; the clerk had previously administered the oath of office on July 1, and the ceremony at the meeting provided a public recognition of the promotion.
Chief (introduced by the chair) and Deputy Chief Benner participated and noted McIntyre’s assignments since graduating from the 65th IOC on July 2, 2018: court prosecutor, school resource officer and patrol. Officials said McIntyre will serve as patrol supervisor on both the 4–12 and 8–4 shifts. The board and attendees congratulated McIntyre on the milestone.
