Carpinteria ' The City Council voted to appoint JoJo Fantone to the Architectural Review Board to fill a vacancy left by the retirement of Richard Johnson. The council heard short presentations from six applicants and discussed the value of candidates with architectural and landscape-architecture experience to add technical expertise to the advisory board.
Staff explained the ranking process used to narrow the field and reminded the council the council may still discuss and consider other candidates during deliberation. Several council members noted Fantone's prior service on the board and experience in local projects.
Motion: Select JoJo Fantone to serve as a member of the Architectural Review Board.
Outcome: Motion passed by voice vote; council adopted resolution number 6486 formalizing the appointment.
The appointment is effective immediately and staff said applications not selected will remain on file for six months in case additional vacancies or recruitment opportunities arise.
