Hugo Loyola re‑elected chair; commission names Nevins vice chair

The Palm Springs Human Rights Commission elected Hugo Loyola as chair for the coming year and Commissioner Nevins as vice chair at its July 13 meeting.
Hugo Loyola asked commissioners to allow him to continue serving in the final year of his appointment and to provide continuity. Commissioner Remus moved to nominate Loyola and the motion was seconded; the commission recorded a 9–0 vote in favor of Loyola as chair. Commissioner Nevins ran unopposed for vice chair and was elected unanimously.
Chair Loyola said he looked forward to continuing the commission's work and listed priorities for the year, and commissioners thanked returning and new members for their service. The elections were handled informally as an on‑record nomination and hand/voice vote; the commission entered the results into the public record.
