The CAMDENTON R-III Board of Education voted unanimously to adopt a new district branding guide and updated communications plan, the board decided at its July meeting.
The branding package, presented by the district communications lead (Speaker 12), establishes official purple-and-gold color codes, multiple logo variants for buildings and athletics, and rules for use on different backgrounds. The presenter said the guidelines were developed with a community committee and will be published to a shared drive for vendors and school staff to access.
Board members asked for clarity on whether the regional career/technical center would be included; presenters said the career center’s separate rebrand was not incorporated at this time. The board approved the motion to adopt the guidelines and communications plan without amendment.
Why it matters: The guidelines centralize visual identity across schools and activities, which the communications lead said will help consistent messaging and reduce ad hoc logo changes by local vendors. Staff will roll out assets as part of routine sign and uniform replacements rather than immediate, district-wide replacements.
The board also discussed trademark questions and confirmed the district will not require fees to use the logos, saying the intent is not to create a barrier for community groups. The board’s vote completed the adoption; no follow-up vote date was scheduled.
