Governance committee approves corrective-discipline policy, will forward to board

The Russell Library governance committee on May 13 approved a revised corrective-discipline policy and voted to forward the updated document to the full board for final review.
Brandy, a staff member who led the review, told the committee, "the good news about the corrective discipline policy is I don't have any further adjustments to suggest myself." She said the policy "piggybacks off of the city's personnel rules," and that she had not received word of any required changes from city staff.
Committee members raised only minor grammatical or punctuation suggestions. The chair called for a motion to approve and forward the policy; the motion carried unanimously after a second. Brandy agreed to prepare a check-ready version and add it to the board packet.
Brandy also noted she would double-check the minutes and ensure a related privacy/confidentiality/law enforcement policy previously approved by governance appears in the board folder for the next full-board meeting.
