The Hyde Park Planning Board continued its public hearing on July 15 for Camp Victory Lake’s proposed auditorium addition, hearing an update from Peter Sander of Runyon Engineering.
"So my name is Peter Sander. I'm from Runyon Engineering representing the applicant, which is Camp Victory Lake," Sander said, describing a 3,500‑square‑foot atrium and bathroom addition with a proposed mezzanine, a minor driveway reconfiguration and an emergency access route for the fire department. He told the board that freeze‑thaw constraints delayed stormwater testing but that the team has completed percolation and geotechnical testing needed for the SWIP and is finalizing stormwater management practices.
Board reviewers asked the team to fine‑tune lighting plans to meet the town’s illumination targets (below five foot‑candles where required), confirm ADA accessibility and slope details, and secure any necessary fire‑department sign‑offs for the new emergency access. Sander said the design team will submit revised plans shortly and requested an offline meeting to walk the site; the board agreed to an on‑site visit and to resubmit in time for the August 5 meeting.
By motion, the board adjourned the continued public hearing to the August 5 planning board meeting so members may review the revised materials and attend the proposed site walk.
