At the July 13 Public Works & Utility Committee meeting, Michael (staff member) presented results of the bid opening for the Concord and Bayberry Avenue reconstruction and recommended awarding the work to the low bidder, Haas (Haas Sons), at $2,203,819.90.
Michael noted four bidders submitted proposals and that bid pricing was somewhat higher than earlier estimates because asphalt and concrete costs have increased. He also presented an optional sidewalk alternate for the Aspen area connection; Haas quoted $25,077.80 for that additional sidewalk link.
Committee member moved to award the base contract and the sidewalk alternate to Haas; the motion passed on a voice vote. Chair indicated the motion carried after members signified their support.
What happens next: staff said they will finalize contract paperwork and prepare for construction procurement and coordination with other upcoming projects in the village’s capital-improvement program.
