City approves $1.07 million in IT and cybersecurity contracts

Adam Ward, information technology services director, asked the committee to approve a set of technology investments intended to stabilize and modernize the city’s network and endpoint security. The committee approved a three-year managed network services contract with Arc Technology Consultants for $281,349.96; Ward said Arc has partnered with the city for more than 12 years.
Ward also presented a contract to replace and upgrade the city’s Cisco Nexus core switches, including implementation services and five years of support and licensing through June 2031. The Cisco Nexus core replacement project was presented with a total cost of $718,508.68 and was procured through a competitively bid national cooperative purchasing alliance.
Virginia Baskins, assistant IT director, presented a three-year renewal with ThreatLocker to continue a zero-trust endpoint security posture; the three-year cost is $273,457.44 ($91,152.48 per year). Baskins said ThreatLocker helps prevent unauthorized applications and scripts from running on the city’s network.
All three items were approved and the appropriate city officials were authorized to execute contract documents.
