Committee reviews budget update; welding-shop grant added to program funding

Jerry Haas reported that, as presented, the capital program shows just over $203,000,000 of available funding after adding a welding-shop grant (approximately $1,067,000). The presenter said expenditures to date total just under $54,300,000, contracted amounts are just under $171,000,000, and total estimated costs are currently just under $191,000,000. Haas said the middle-high school project budget will be updated at the next meeting to show the welding-shop grant as a separate line item.
A committee member asked whether the welding-shop grant should be rolled into the middle-high school budget or kept as a separate line; the presenter said a separate line had been created for transparency. Committee members agreed the posted compiled budget should be updated when the presenter confirms final numbers.
Separately, a committee member reported receipt of a check from the Van Buren Charitable Foundation and said a meeting is scheduled to discuss purchasing and next steps for that space.
