Staff said the contract keeps Waste Management as the village’s current hauler but adds or adjusts several resident benefits: a $3 veterans discount (new), a $3 senior discount (up from $2), an increased community support contribution to $10,000 (up from $5,000) to help offset event costs such as shred events, and extended yard‑waste pickup now scheduled April through December. "The contract will be from 08/01/2026 to 2031," staff reported, and said Waste Management submitted the lowest proposal received.
Trustees and staff framed the agreement as preserving broad resident services and flexibility (curbside collections, scheduling for large items and hazardous waste), and staff noted previous survey results showed positive feedback on refuse pickup. The resolution (26‑42‑90) was included on the consent agenda and approved by roll call as part of that package.
The village indicated fees and the full contract terms are detailed in the contract documents; staff encouraged eligible residents to claim the newly extended veteran and senior discounts.
