Several residents used public comment to report problems after Brightspeed installations and to compare competing broadband providers.
One resident said Brightspeed cut off her service and scheduled installation dates incorrectly; she reported no phone or internet since her installation visit and said she planned to file a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission. Becky Harrison said crews who dug to install underground fiber cracked a neighbor’s driveway and that permanent underground work took about six weeks to complete. "They cracked Pauline Gordon's driveway," Harrison said, describing an unresolved dispute between the neighbor and the contractor.
A council member and other residents discussed technical differences between providers, noting differences between fiber-to-the-curb and fiber-to-the-home architectures and retention offers from incumbents. Staff and council did not take formal action on the complaints during this meeting but acknowledged the concerns and encouraged residents to report damage and service interruptions so staff can assist or document issues.
No Brightspeed representative responded during the meeting; the complaints remain unresolved in the record.
