Library Director Renee Dougherty provided routine updates at the June 3 Columbia Heights Public Library Board meeting, including a correction to the April board report and several upcoming events and outreach ideas.
Dougherty said attendance figures for two April 27 events had been swapped in the April report; the error will be corrected in the record. She also said the Adult Services Librarian met with the new owner of the Heights Theater to discuss a possible Movie Club pairing films adapted from books and cross-promotional displays timed to theater shows.
The board discussed participating in the Great Minnesota Read-Together (rebranded as the Minnesota Library Read-Together) scheduled for Sept. 18–20, 2026, and noted the Columbia Heights Public Library’s 100th birthday on Dec. 3, 2028 as an item for future planning. Trustees also reviewed the Board Books segment, where each member shared recent reads and recommendations.
The Community Forum recorded no public attendees or correspondence. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:29 p.m.
