Public Works Director Chris Buckner told the Gluckstadt board on June 9 that the signal at Gluckstadt Road and Industrial Drive S currently runs on a timer and that camera-based vehicle detection would improve traffic flow. The board awarded the purchase to Lewis Electric for $24,895, the low quote of two received.
Buckner also outlined proposed street repairs on Distribution Drive, Munich Drive and Yandell Road to address pavement deterioration, settlement and surface irregularities intended to improve safety and driving conditions. The board voted to approve the various street repairs.
Both motions were moved and seconded (signal detection: motion by Alderman Jayce Powell, second by Alderman John Taylor) and passed by unanimous vote; staff will schedule and procure the approved work.
