At its March 10 meeting the Gluckstadt Board of Aldermen approved several public-works measures, including awarding term bids for materials and services, approving a paving and striping project for Gluckstadt Road, adopting the city’s Standard Detail Sheets, and authorizing replacement of a damaged culvert on Clarkdell Road.
Public Works Director Chris Buckner presented the items. The culvert project includes purchase of two 80-foot sections of 48-inch pipe from G&O for $6,695.20 and installation by Steve Chisum, LLC for $5,400; the minutes record those figures as the lowest and best quotes received. Alderman Chip Williams moved to approve the culvert purchase and replacement; Alderwoman Jessie Campbell seconded the motion and the board recorded a unanimous vote by the members present.
The board also approved the Standard Detail Sheets, which compile subdivision regulations into visual construction details (erosion control, curb/gutter, storm drainage). The paving and striping project for Gluckstadt Road and various term bids to support public-works operations were likewise approved.
What happens next: staff will execute contracts and schedule culvert replacement work; procurement records and invoices should reflect the vendor and pricing approved by the board. Any work requiring additional funds or contract changes will return to the board.
