Bay County board approves interlocal agreement, grants and multiple contracts in routine business

Following public comment and the audit presentation, the Bay County Board of Commissioners approved a series of routine business items on July 14, including an interlocal agreement with Michigan Works (Great Lakes Bay) for 2027–2030, multiple sheriff and court grant items, a two-year extension for larviciding mosquito control services (2027–2028), and several information‑systems and HR software agreements.
The board unanimously approved the Michigan Works interlocal agreement after a commissioner noted it had been vetted by a committee and approved unanimously at the county level. Court-related budget adjustments and grant awards for the prosecutor and court administration (including National Children's Advocacy Center attendance, substance abuse and mental health services grants, and child-parent legal representation funding) were approved without discussion.
Information-technology and HR items included multiyear OnBase software maintenance, an Arctic Wolf/People Driven software grama, and an electronic onboarding/timekeeping system; the board approved budget adjustments and the contracts. Purchasing awarded a professional consulting services contract for the Bay County Materials Management Plan to GT Environmental under RFP 2026-8.
The board also approved general payables and closed the meeting after a brief announcement about repatriation of a World War II service member whose remains will be returned to Bay County for a ceremony.
