The Board of Supervisors on July 14 approved a resolution accepting the certificate of substantial completion and closeout documents for Phase A of the Pinecrest Building renovation, which includes Veterans Affairs and Public Health spaces.
Facilities Director Rory Giving told the board the closeout pertains to construction only for Phase A and identified Peters Construction Corporation of Waterloo, Iowa, as the contractor. The final contract amount was stated as $2,337,222.87 and the final retainage to be released as $116,861.11. The board approved the acceptance and authorized the chair to sign all required closeout documents.
No further questions were raised during the meeting about outstanding punch-list items or warranty issues on the record; staff indicated this was primarily a paperwork step to finalize the construction contract phase.
