Pine City council took several discrete actions during its July 1 meeting:
• Thomas Park: Council directed staff to solicit sealed bids for Thomas Park with public notice that the property carries a conservation easement; any sale for less than fair‑market value would require a public hearing. Motion carried by roll call.
• Arvis/Orvis property: After staff described access, debris and suspected wetlands issues, council approved a motion to develop a forestry‑mowing and prescribed‑burn plan for the Orvis property (including Outlot A) and return the plan to council for review.
• Sidewalk payment: Council approved application for payment No. 1 for the Pine City 8th Avenue sidewalk and railroad crossing project in the amount of $113,634.96; staff will follow up on a parking‑lot repair with the property owner.
• Donations and community support: Council accepted Resolution 2026‑33 (donation from Pine City Smoke Eaters for airbags) and Resolution 2026‑34 (donation from Pine County Northern Lights for chalk art); councilors with conflicts abstained where noted and both resolutions passed.
• Jefferson Alliance: Council approved a letter of support for the Jefferson/Jeffress Alliance transportation program to provide scheduled trips to regional destinations.
All listed motions passed on recorded votes or consensus per the meeting record. Staff will follow up on implementation tasks identified in each motion.
