Committee hears plan for software migration as system reaches 'end of life' and possible use of CSBN push notifications

Adrian Guerrero told the Finance and Risk Management Committee that the agency's current software will reach end of life in June of next year and that the agency must plan migration, secure budget authority and obtain state approvals.
"We're working through, kind of logistics of the next steps," Guerrero said. He added that "the life of software is coming up in June of next year," and that the agency needs to budget for migration and secure necessary state approvals.
Guerrero said he expected the agency could rely on a CSBN push-notification system aimed at nurses rather than deploying a separate enhanced notification tool. "I do think, actually, I have a meeting tomorrow within CSBN about the push notification system through nurses. So I think we're gonna be able to absorb all of that, via that method," he said.
Committee members noted that more detailed cost estimates are likely at the 12-month mark before end of life. Guerrero recommended starting more detailed discussions once the agency has a clearer grasp of migration requirements and cost estimates.
The committee did not take a formal vote on procurement or migration funding during the meeting. Next steps include further planning and cost development ahead of the June deadline.
